　昭和52年４月に町制を施行し、豊能町が誕生してから今年で40周年という節目の年を迎えました。　町の魅力は何と言いましても、大阪市内から１時間以内という地域に位置しながらも、豊かな自然や田園風景が広がっているという点です。　また、今年度に予定されている新名神高速道路の部分開通により、車でのアクセスはさらに便利になります。　平成23年度に策定しました第４次総合計画では「人とみどりが輝くまち」を将来像とし、平成28年３月に策定いたしました「豊能町まち・ひと・しごと創生総合戦略」と併せて、人が集まり、人が増えるような「まち」、小さいけれど〝キラリ〞と光る「まち」の実現に向け、地域ぐるみの定住促進や、本町の地場産業の中核でもあり、貴重な財産である農業の活性化のために観光と連携した取り組みなどを行っております。　そして、これからの町を担っていかれる次世代をしっかりと見据えて、「豊能町」を誇りに思える魅力あふれるまちづくりを町民の皆さまと一体となり取り組んでまいります。　最後に町制施行40周年を記念して発行するこの冊子を通じて、ご覧になってくださった皆さま方に町の魅力に触れていただき、「住んでよかった」、「住んでみたい」、「訪れてみたい」と感じていただけたら幸いです。Toyono Town marked its 40th anniversary since becoming a municipality in April 1977. The greatest advantage of this town is its location—no more than an hour away from Osaka—while there are stretches of a rich natural environment and a rural landscape. In addition, the partial opening of the Shin-Meishin Expressway, scheduled for this fiscal year, will increase accessi-bility by car.According to the fourth general plan developed in fiscal 2012 based on the vision of brightening up the people and greenery, along with the Toyono Town General Recreation Plan for the Community, People, and Jobs developed in March 2016, we are committed to community-wide promotion of settlement and the collaboration of tourism and agriculture, which is to be revitalized as the core of local industry, as well as a valuable asset, in order to realize the establishment of a town that shines brilliantly enough to gather and increase the number of people even if the town is small. With an eye toward the next generation as the torchbearer of the town in the future, we will make every effort to build an attractive town together with the townspeople so that they can take pride in Toyono Town. In closing, I hope that you will read this town guide, which was issued to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the municipality, and find our town attractive enough to consider this a place to live or visit.
